Biography
Rio Sirah is a self taught artist born in Jackson, Mississippi, and raised by family with Alabama and Illinois roots.
Since his arrival in Atlanta he has done artwork consisting of make-up, body art, video, fine art, and various artistic forms of expression. He has worked with and for companies such as Netherworld, Dragoncon, Bonner Brothers, PMAC, Magic City, Straight Stuntin Magzine.
A Few Words from Rio Sirah
When people ask me what I do my mind begins to swim through a sea of words trying to find one that best suits me. I stand almost speechless battling myself for a quick answer. Art is something I've understood all my life. What I dont understand is categories. Ironically, the inability to comprehend this word has ultimately empowered me with the ability to be everything.

Is travel involved?
Is the project so large that I would need to bring an assistant (or several)?
Airfare, travel and hotel fees will be charged if applicable. Assistant Painter fees will be charged if applicable.
The rates of the model, photographer (if not me), videographer, glamour make-up artist and hair stylist are separate,and are the responsibility of the client.
A 25% non-refundable deposit is required to reserve me your for your project or event.

FAQs
How long does it take to finish a mural?
This depends on how much detail or images i will be painting on the wall or large surface. So at the most I'd say about 1 day or 2 for one wall.
How many women have you painted?
I've been painting bodies since 2009 and after people started seeing my first attemps at doing it, it took off pretty fast and I had a lot of volunteers faster than I could prepare for so I'd say (and I'm only estimating) 1000 women if not more.
How long does it take for the paint to dry?
The paint doent take a long time it usually dries within a minute of applying it.
How long does it take to paint a model?
Once again this depends on the detail, and I really like detail. But the longest I've gone on one model is about 6 hours so far, that was the iPhone body art piece. Most of that time was spent on painting all those little apps on there, wires and such.
Do you do tattoos?
I use too, I don't anymore I have decided to focus on other projects.
How long have you been drawing?
Every since I was 4 years old. Thank you daddy's genetics and mama's nurturing teaching skills.
Does the paint take a long time to wash off?
Not really most of them come off with regular soap and water. The ones that take a little time to get off are Endura and alcohol based paints those take a liiiiitle bit more scrubbing.

What does your name mean?
Well R.I.O is actually short for REBELLIOUS INTELLECTUAL OUTLAW which has recently been changed to RIGHTEOUS INTELLECTUAL OUTLAW and Sirah pronounced (Suh-Rah) means protected by God loved by God. The sound of my name is spanish for "will be".
How did you get started in the bodyart scene?
This is a long story but I'll make it short. I have a friend named Kandice and a photographer friend of mine named Timothy we got together one day and did some pictures, some people saw it and asked me did I do this for a living, and I was like.. sure yeah I do. the rest is history.
Can i order prints of your work?
Indeed you can now. It was not available for people in the past and I had my reasons but its available to own so get them before they are discontinued.
